Jack was working as a Business Development Representative for the local polytechnic in Christchurch, NZ, supporting people looking to get back into study or upskill, selling courses to various businesses. While there he decided he wanted to study IT as it was free for staff. After the first semester, Jack realised that the work was not for him but he was still interested in staying close to the industry. He saw a job in technical recruitment and thought that would allow him to be close to the industry and utilise his experience!

Jack knows firsthand how hard it can be for someone to change roles. Feeling like they are static doing the same thing day in and day out. Helping people find the opportunities that will allow them to be motivated or feel that they are able to grow is something he finds really rewarding. He also knows how difficult it can be for a business to find the right employee, and what happens when the wrong person joins an office. He likes that he can be the matchmaker and support from both sides to make sure the right person joins.

The area that Jack specialises in is Software Development and Testing. He has a network of over 500 people, having interviewed over 900 candidates in his career so far! Jack loves attending technology meetups, connecting with the IT community and building genuine relationships. 

Jack is successful at what he does because he has invested in building his IT technical knowledge, as well as building strong relationships. He believes the more he gets to know about a business or person the easier it is for him to find the right fit.
