Senior Infrastructure & Cloud Engineer
Our client is a well established business who are growing and need an additional Senior Infrastructure & Cloud Engineer to join on a permanent basis.
Ideally, you'll come from a Networking background and now focus on Cloud and Infrastructure at a Senior level.
We need someone who can not only script but also automate (not just DevOps).
An automation mindset is important in this role, plus strong communication skills, can follow strategy and is willing to get their hands dirty.
If you bring UNIX experience it's a bonus.
Our client is mostly using Azure, but has some on-prem which will soon be migrated to Azure (you'll work on part of this project).
Some Responsbilities:
- Monitor, support and maintain Infrastructure Systems including Active Directory, Exchange, VMware, and many more
- Install, configure, test and maintain operating systems, application software and system management tools
- Planning and deploying upgrades and enhancements to all operational infrastructure, including but not limited to; servers, computers, network devices and phone systems
- Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability
- Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work with developers to implement fixes
- Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the manual intervention time on any tasks
- 5+ years experience in a similar role
- Sound understanding of server/client communications
- Solid technical background in a hosted services environment including infrastructure networks, hardware, software and phone systems
- Experience with; Virtualization (VMware), Windows Sever and Active Directory, Exchange Server, Databases (SQL Server, Oracle), Remote Desktop Services, IIS (Certificate management, Websites), SIP Phone Systems, Networking (Routing, DNS, DHCP), Installation and configuration of IT Server hardware, Scripting PowerShell, Linux \ UNIX based servers plus monitoring products
- Networking background
- Strong cloud experience (ideally Azure)
- Experience in Financial Services is highly advantageous
You must be able to go into the Melbourne CBD office 2-3 days per week and WFH 2-3 days per week.
Salary: Between $140,000 - $160,000 base + Super (higher end if you bring strong UNIX)
